My senior collection reflects a world where technology feels like a push and pull. My collection explores the tension between organic life and digital existence. Inspired by internet culture and the way we consume information, this collection challenges the widespread negativity surrounding technological advancements.
Historically, physical innovations were embraced as essential to human progress, yet modern digital advancements—especially the way we document and communicate through technology—are often met with skepticism. Why is information overload viewed so negatively? Why is digital documentation, particularly in crises, criticized rather than acknowledged as a tool for awareness and change?
This collection visualizes the push and pull of this phenomenon, contrasting organic and technological elements to reflect both the friction and the harmony between human experience and digital evolution. While technology has the power to connect, document, and shape the future, its duality also exposes deep societal rifts—blurring the lines between reality and digital perception, fostering division, and challenging our collective understanding of truth, identity, and human connection.
Technology is everywhere, but for some reason, we’re constantly being told when and where we can use it. My collection dives into this push and pull—how we rely on digital tools but still face restrictions on access.
I’m playing with the idea of pockets overloaded with phones, turning something we all carry into a statement. Why is it okay to have multiple notebooks or tools, but carrying constant digital access is seen as excessive? Phones aren’t just distractions—they connect us, document our world, and can even save lives.
This collection challenges the outdated idea that technology is the enemy. Instead, it highlights how digital tools shape our reality, questioning why something so essential is still debated and controlled.
